Need PC help, Please.

What type of windows does it have and what type are you installing? You'll need to make a startup disk with windows if you don't have one..You're going to want to boot up into MS DOS (through the startup disk, make sure to choose the option for cd rom capability), then to format the harddrive it'll be format c: in the command prompt I believe which will clear off the harddrive of all files.. if you did the option with the startup disk to include cd-rom playability (meaning the cdrom works) you can then change it to the cd drive (most often that's D: or E:, in the command prompt type the drive like above, and make sure the setup disk is in the cd drive before trying to change it to that drive), then type setup and hit enter and follow the prompts.

Or if it's Windows XP, just put in the CD, restart, and follow the instructions. [img]wink.gif[/img]

That's why I asked what version of windows [img]tongue.gif[/img]

XP has the option to format the harddrive before it installs.. Only bad thing about using XP is it's harder to use the same copy of it on more then one computer. Windows 98 you could use as many times as you wanted on multiple computers and have no problem.

2000 can be unstable when it comes to the registry and hive (my sister's laptop is having that problem and they don't have the setup cd, and the laptop has no floppy in it so they might be screwededed)
